“Renewing Democracy: Women Leading the Way” will explore the challenges facing democracy in the U.S. and abroad and highlight the many ways leaders are working toward democratic renewal.
Speakers will include Hillary Rodham Clinton ’69, former U.S. secretary of state; Keren Yarhi-Milo, dean of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs; Leymah Gbowee, Nobel Prize laureate and Liberian peace activist; Chelsea Miller, co-founder of Freedom March NYC; and Maria Ressa, Nobel Prize laureate and co-founder of Rappler, among others.
The summit marks the launch of the Hillary Rodham Clinton Center for Citizenship, Leadership and Democracy at Wellesley College, which is dedicated to preparing the next generation of civic leaders. Learn more about the center.
