This presentation will cover the basics of lipid structure and function as it relates to the development and management of cardiovascular disease. This is including simple and complex lipid structures, lipoproteins, apolipoproteins, and various receptors. Laboratory methods for risk assessment, diagnosis, disease progression, and treatment monitoring regarding these biomarkers will be discussed.
