New York City Department of Education
The current social, economic, and political climate both within New York City (NYC) and across the country suggests a need for more implicit bias awareness programs that build more inclusive, nurturing, and collaborative communities. While most people in this country adamantly reject any form of racism, sexism, prejudice, and discrimination, research shows us the same people unknowingly reveal recurring patterns of subconscious bias in their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Learn what the NYC Department of Education is implementing citywide to ensure that school, district, and central staff, as well as parents and students, are aware of these implicit biases, and learn strategies and interventions to reduce them.
