Connecting Infection Prevention and Medical Laboratory Science: A Collaborative Approach

Molly Bisciglia is a Senior Infection Preventionist at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where she has worked since 2016. Previously, she spent seven years in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at Hennepin County Medical Center. Molly earned her B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Minnesota in 2009 and is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. She maintains this certification and holds the CIC (Certification in Infection Control), earned in July 2020. Molly is an active member of APIC-MN, the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. She chairs the Mental/Behavioral Health Committee, teaches the Basic Infection Prevention microbiology course, and serves on the Education, Emerging Infections, and Electronic Medical Record committees. In 2024, she received the APIC-MN Chapter Leader Award for outstanding leadership and contributions to advancing infection prevention.
