Phil Heaton is currently the Scientific Medical Director of Microbiology for the HealthPartners Health System, Prior to that he served as the Technical Director of Clinical Microbiology at Children's Minnesota. His Professional interests include the use of novel molecular diagnostic methods, Proteomic approaches to susceptibility testing and identification, diagnostic stewardship, and giving his clinical colleagues a hard time. He's published on these topics (minus the last one) in peer reviewed journals and reference texts. In his personal life he enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin and their kids, all things outdoors, volunteering in his community and long bike rides to help him think.
