Laura Boyce is the founding Executive Director of Teach Plus PA, which empowers excellent, experienced, and diverse teachers to take leadership over key policy and practice issues that advance equity, opportunity, and student success. Teach Plus PA has accelerated student achievement gains at partner schools and districts and have achieved statewide policy wins including historic increases in state education funding, comprehensive literacy reforms, and major investments in the educator workforce. Laura co-founded the PA Needs Teachers coalition and also serves in leadership roles with the PA Schools Work campaign and the PA Literacy Coalition. She served on Governor Shapiro’s education transition committee, was named a Generation Change Philly fellow by the Philadelphia Citizen, and was named an Above & Beyond award winner by City & State PA. Laura previously served as an elementary and middle school principal in Camden, NJ and a teacher leader in West and North Philadelphia. During her 19 years in education, Laura has taught in or led schools serving every grade level in both district and charter turnaround settings.
