Born in Philadelphia, PA, to Ukrainian refugees who emigrated to the U.S. after World War II, throughout her life, Marta Nadia Rubel was extremely active not only within her local Ukrainian community in Philadelphia, but throughout the Ukrainian diaspora in the surrounding tri-state area and beyond. Following her passion for the Arts and Visual Media, Marta embarked on a long and flourishing career at TV Guide Magazine, rising through the ranks to Director of Manufacturing and Production. In 2022, however, unsettled by the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, after 27+ years at TV Guide Magazine, Marta left to join the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia as Director of Social Outreach. In her capacity as Social Outreach Director, Marta Rubel established the Archeparchy as the go-to national Resource Hub for Ukrainian refugees who fled to the U.S. under the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) humanitarian parole program and their sponsors. Given the current immigration environment, all focus has been devoted to keeping the spotlight on newcomers and their supporters, amplifying their contributions and integration into their local communities.
