The Idaho Transportation Department is excited to host the 2023 AASHTO PUG Conference at the Boise Centre in the heart of beautiful downtown Boise, Idaho!
This annual conference brings together members of the Project User's Group (PUG) to share technology and collaborate on innovative ideas. The conference provides engaging speakers; opportunities to network with industry leaders; talk directly with vendors about new products; participation in technical reviews sessions and a bit of fun.

Registration Costs
PUG Attendees Registration -- The early-bird registration cost will be $600.00 per attendee. Late registration will be $650.00 per attendee after August 1st.
PUG Guest -- The early-bird guest registration will be available $400.00 per person and will increase to $450.00 after August 1st.

Make plans now to come visit Boise and the surrounding area before or after the conference. Idaho's fastest growing capital city brings visitors with and ideal combination of urban lifestyle and outdoor adventure. Boise's energetic, friendly, and walkable downtown boasts plentiful restaurants, breweries, hotels, cultural attractions and nightlife.
In recent years, Boise has been names one of the top cities in the US to visit by multiple national publications. Just four blocks from downtown is the Boise Greenbelt, a 25-mile walking and biking path that follows the Boise River through the city. The nearby Boise Foothills offers hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails. Within a mile or less from the Boise Centre, there are a variety of entertainment options from museums, art galleries, historical walking tours, Idaho State Capitol, Zoo Boise as well as Boise State University's blue turf!
The Boise Centre, Idaho's premier conference center, is just seven minutes from the Boise Airport, which features direct air service from over 20 cities. There is no need to rent a car because many hotels offer transportation to/from the airport. Uber, Lyft and taxis are also available.

The Boise Greenbelt is a 25-mile long bicycle and pedestrian path that links 850 acres of parks and natural areas along the Boise River.
Participants will be guided along the greenbelt as well as be provided with a bicycle and helmet.

Built on 1870, the Old Idaho Penitentiary is one of only four territorial prisons open to the public today. During its 101 years of operation, the site saw escapes. scandals and the effects of Boise's transition from the "Wild West" to a mid-20th century capital city. There were around 129 recorded deaths at the penitentiary including 10 executions and deaths from various diseases, suicides, murder, and escape attempts.
You will be bussed to/from the Idaho Old Penitentiary and given a 1-hour guided tour. You will them have an hour to visit the site at your leisure.

In 1984, the Idaho Botanical Garden was established on a 42-acre site of old prison grounds leased from the Idaho State Historical Society and the State of Idaho. The garden was designed by renowned English landscape architect John Brookes and was made possible by Muriel and Diana Kirk. It contains plants typical to English gardens, but plants that are specifically selected to perform in the local climate. More than 1,300 perennials have been planted in the garden. A key focal point of the Botanical Garden is the charming Summer House, constructed of Tablerock sandstone. The black slate roof originally races the Veteran's Home, the celling is wood from the floor of the Boise's former J.C. Penneys store in downtown. The crowning achievement is the wrt iron and coper weathervane, crafted by Boise's own master blacksmith Nahum Hersom. Another focal point is the Princess Diana Fountain, dedicated in 1998 in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Come join the fun aboard a vintage open air Miss Molley Trolley. The 2-hour tour is fully narrated and covers downtown Boise History, Warmsprings Road, Hyde Park and Boise's east end neighborhood. Hear stories behind many locations throughout the city including Idaho's Old Penitentiary, the Boise Depot, the Idaho State Capitol, the Old Fort, Boise's main parks, and many people and places along the way. This is a family fun activity for all to enjoy!

Table Rock stands right above Boise City and can often be seen from anywhere in town. Table Rock is known for the wonderful 3.7 mile hike located along the Boise foothills, offering a number of activity options and beautiful views overlooking the city. Table Rock is one of Boise's most frequently used trails - recognized for the 60-foot cross at the top of the hike. It takes an average of 2 hours to complete. During this guided hike, attendees will learn more about the Treasure Valley, given ample time to look at desert vegetation and wildlife, and look out over miles of Idaho.
