Created in 1982, Orleans Parish Communication District (OPCD) is the single Emergency Communications Center (ECC) serving the City of New Orleans. The agency provides call processing for all 9-1-1 and 3-1-1 calls, and manages all active public safety incidents within the city.  OPCD is proud to be an international leader in the emergency communications industry, providing innovative technology and top-rated training. With more than 170 employees processing roughly 1 million calls, annually, OPCD stands as the "Gateway to Government" in Orleans Parish, and strives to provide exceptional service with each and every interaction.
