Logan Airport (BOS) in Boston, Massachusetts, and the T. F. Green Airport (PVD) in Providence, Rhode Island, are the two closest major airports. For driving directions from both airports, see the link above. Both airports are serviced by major car rental companies. There is bus service from Logan Airport to Woods Hole via the Peter Pan Bus Company: peterpanbus.com. The route would be Boston (Logan Airport) to Woods Hole with a fare of $32 each way. There are later buses, but to arrive for dinner, the last bus from Logan would be 3:45 p.m. There is no direct bus service from Green Airport. We recommend purchasing your tickets ahead of time, as soon as possible.
By Bus
The Peter Pan Bus Company peterpanbus.com has service from one location in New York City (Port Authority Bus Terminal), and two locations in Boston (Logan Airport and Amtrak's Boston South Station). There are later buses, but to arrive at MBL by dinner, the last bus to get would be the 3:45 p.m. from Logan Airport and the 4:15 p.m. bus from Boston South Station. The bus departing Logan Airport costs $32 each way, and the bus departing Boston South Station costs $29 each way. We recommend purchasing your tickets ahead of time, as soon as possible.
By Rail
Amtrak serves two stations in Boston, Back Bay Station and South Station. Both Avis and Budget have a location across the street from Back Bay
Station, but there are no nearby car rental agencies near South Station. The Peter Pan bus to Woods Hole stops at South Station but not at Back Bay Station. There are later buses, but to arrive at MBL by dinner, the last bus to
get departing Boston South Station would be the 4:15 p.m. The fare is $29 each way. We
recommend purchasing your tickets ahead of time, as soon as possible. You can purchase bus tickets at peterpanbus.com.
Registration for the SGP 2022 Meeting includes lodging on the MBL campus for 4 nights and all meals starting with dinner on Wednesday dinner through breakfast on Sunday morning. Because housing stock at MBL is limited, rooms on campus will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. As we get nearer to the meeting and have a better sense of registration levels, we will provide the option to upgrade to a single room for an additional $265 if single rooms should become available. For those staying off campus, meals-only registration options are available (all meals from Wednesday dinner through Sunday breakfast). For local accommodation, please see the Hotels menu.
Registration rates are below. All attendees not already members are strongly encouraged to join the Society of General Physiologists at the time of registration to take advantage of the lower registration rate for members. For new regular members, the net savings on registration is $210 when you join for $125. For new student and postdoc members, the net savings on registration is over $300 when you join for $20 or $40. There are many other great benefits to being an SGP member besides the meeting discount, including waiver of publication fees for the Journal of General Physiology ($2,000 value!): sgpweb.org/benefits.
